Hi, I'm Mike, a UK filmmaker based just outside Wigan. I started in theatre, and it was after I started filming my plays that I fell in love with the camera, and I haven't been able to put it down since! After training in London at Pinewood Studios and Raindance, I was mentored by Roy Boulter and Sol Papadopoulos at Hurricane Films (The Last Bus, A Prayer Before Dawn), and I was later selected to be part of the BFI Creative Producer programme. I went on to work on productions for Netflix, Amazon, Sky, BBC and ITV.

 

My work focuses on character-driven psychological stories, often centred around young adult protagonists. My debut short film, 63, screened at a number of international festivals and received two awards. I'm currently in post-production for the BFI-funded short film Cass and Roya, and my short film Occupied is currently on the film festival circuit.
